Structures of Metal Complexes
Transition metals with a precisely bonded geometry of other molecules or ions around them are the active sites in many enzymes and industrial catalysts. In a quite different context, transition metal complexes are the source of characteristic colours in gemstones, ceramics and many modern inks and dyes. This module reviews the basic ideas of the structure, isomerism and nomenclature of this important class of compound.
